ATS Kya Hai — Asli Kaam Samjho
Ek baar ki baat hai — main Qatar University Hospital ke electrical room mein khada tha. Raat ke 2 baj rahe the aur achanak mains supply gayi. Puri building andheri ho gayi. Lekin sirf 8 seconds mein generator chalu ho gaya aur lights wapas aa gayi. Ye kamal hua Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) ki wajah se.
ATS ek aisa device hai jo mains supply fail hone par automatically generator ki supply pe switch karta hai — aur jab mains wapas aaye toh wapas switch karta hai. Ye sab without human intervention hota hai. Hospitals, data centers, critical facilities ke liye ATS mandatory hai. PPM schedule mein ATS ka regular check hona chahiye.

TS1311 MK11 Controller — ATS Ka Dimaag
Cummins ATS panel ka sabse important part hota hai uska controller — model TS1311 MK11. Ye wahi chip hai jo decide karti hai ki mains leni hai ya generator se supply leni hai. Agar ye controller sahi kaam kare toh ATS automatic hai, aur agar ye problem kare toh poori building ka backup fail ho sakta hai.
Maine Sidra Hospital project mein ek case dekha tha — ek naye electrician ne P4 connector ki wiring seedha laga di bina polarity check kiye. Result? Generator start signal hi nahi gaya. ATS ne mains fail hone ke baad bhi generator ko start nahi kiya. 20 minute tak ICU mein UPS pe kaam chala. Isiliye har wire lagane se pehle diagram dekho aur polarity confirm karo.
Inside View — TS1311 MK11 Controller
Colored wires, circuit breakers aur TS1311 MK11 controller assembly. Controller mein voltage settings, time delays, aur transfer parameters program karne padti hain. Gulf standard ke liye 415V, 50Hz, transfer delay 8–10 sec set karo. Wrong settings matlab wrong transfer — ya transfer hi nahi.
Customer Wiring Terminal Block
Sabse zyada galtiyan hoti hain Customer Wiring Terminal Block pe. Ye woh jagah hai jahan aap apni external wiring connect karte ho. TB1 mein terminal 1 aur 2 generator start signal ke liye hote hain. Terminal 3 aur 4 remote annunciator ke liye. Aur terminal 5 onward customer ke custom connections ke liye hote hain.
Ek common sawaal — “Source A aur Source B mein kya fark hai?” Simple jawab: Source A = Mains (DEWA/KAHRAMAA utility supply) aur Source B = Generator. Normal mein ATS Source A pe hota hai. Jab Source A fail ho toh Source B pe switch karta hai. Mains wapas aaye toh phir Source A pe — sab automatic.
Terminal Block — TB1 Wiring
TB1 terminal 1 aur 2: Generator start signal (dry contact, normally open). Terminal 3 aur 4: Remote annunciator. Polarity check karo pehle — wrong polarity matlab generator start signal nahi jayega. Factory default voltage/frequency values site ke hisaab se change karni padti hain.
Panel Ke Andar — Fuses Aur Relays
Panel kholo toh andar ek poori duniya hoti hai. Cummins ATS GT40040UN72 mein control fuses FM1 se FM4 tak hote hain jo controller aur relay circuit ko protect karte hain. Iske saath relays K1 se K4 hote hain jo different switching functions handle karte hain.
Al Daayen Hospital mein ek baar ek fuse FM2 blow ho gaya tha. Hum log 2 ghante tak main breaker, generator, controller sab check karte rahe. Aakhir mein ek senior technician ne aake seedha FM2 change kiya aur ATS chal pada. Lesson: ATS automatic mode mein shift nahi ho raha toh sabse pehle in fuses ko check karo.
Control Fuses FM1–FM4 Aur Relays K1–K4
Fuse FM1: Controller supply. FM2: Source A sensing circuit. FM3: Source B sensing circuit. FM4: Auxiliary circuit. Agar koi bhi fuse blow ho toh ATS automatic transfer nahi karega. Replacement se pehle cause dhundo — fuse replace karo, warna phir blow ho jaayega.

Emergency Manual Operation
Kabhi ek situation aati hai jab controller kharab ho jaata hai aur automatic transfer possible nahi hota. Aisi emergency mein Cummins ATS panel ek manual operation lever deta hai. Is lever se aap physically mechanism ko move karke supply transfer kar sakte ho.

Emergency mein sirf trained personnel hi use kare. Lever operate karne se pehle dono sources OFF karna compulsory hai — LOTO lagao, multimeter se zero verify karo, phir lever operate karo. Live ATS pe manual operation — fatal ho sakta hai.
